Bathu is a close relative of spinach and qinuoa. For centuries, it has been used as a medicinal plant.
Prepare two feet wide ridges and loosely drop seeds on both sides of the ridges. Its seeds need light to grow. Alternately, prepare a bed which is well-drained, fertile. Level the bed and fill it with water. Then sprinkle the seeds on the flooded bed. The water will be drained and the seeds will stick to the soil.
After germination, thin plants and maintain a distance of 12 to 18 inches between the plants.
Sow seeds every month to have a steady supply during the whole winter season.
