Eggplant-Long – بینگن لمبے

Grow eggplants from seedlings.

Fill the pot with equal amounts of cocopeat and compost/vermicompost and moisten the mix well. Sow seeds about ½ inch deep in small pots to grow seedlings. The seeds will germinate in 5-10 days depending on the conditions.

Transfer seedlings to a larger pot or to a garden bed when they are six inch tall. Maintain a 24-30 inch distance between the inground plants in all directions.

Eggplants perform best in well-drained, fertile soil.

Eggplants thrive in warm conditions and like at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight.

Spread a thick layer of mulch around the base of the plant.

If protected from frost, eggplants can yield fruit throughout the year.
